The Whitstable Cottage Company says
The Kentish seaside town of Whitstable has become something of a foodie and artist’s paradise but whilst many of the traditional fishermen’s cottages may now have been converted to holiday accommodation and boutique shops, it has never lost its charming fishing village vibe.
Much sought-after by Londoners seeking a weekend break – or just a long seafood lunch – Whitstable and nearby Seasalter and Herne Bay are a great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a simple British seaside holiday with none of the razzamatazz of the larger resorts. And the oysters are amongst the best in the UK.
We’ve been very picky, with just 24 properties to choose from. Most are bang on the beach or just a stone’s throw away. Take your pick from romantic boltholes for two to larger family houses. All are well-equipped with all you could need and we are always on hand to help you make the most of your stay.
There’s a lovely 120-ft garden at Shanty – a three-bedroom house with the vibe of a chic Scandinavian summer house. Beach 221 is a secluded and contemporary loft-style house that sleeps two, directly on the beach at Seasalter. Also in Seasalter, Blue Beach House is a family favourite.
