Redondo Beach house

Mike & Donna's verdict:

Redondo is one of the South Bay beaches where California's beach culture was born, so there's no better place to catch the waves and ocean breeze. Live the lifestyle in a beach house, giving you easy access to local markets, cafes and restaurants as well as popular attractions in Santa Monica, Hollywood, Los Angeles and beyond.

Recommended place to stay: Redondo Beach Homes

Redondo Beach Homes says

Live the California dream in one of our characterful properties, each located a stone’s throw from the ocean in Redondo Beach, southern California.

The Luxury Beach House has five bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping up to ten in great comfort. This spacious, light and open-plan house has a characterful living room, dining room and sleek kitchen. There are French doors leading out to the beautiful outdoor courtyard – complete with a barbecue, of course.

A week’s rental costs from US$3,000 up to US$3,450 per week.

For something more intimate, our 1920s Spanish Bungalow sleeps up to four in two bedrooms. There’s a pretty courtyard garden and spacious living area with a full kitchen. One week’s rental costs between US$1,000 and US$1,400.

Couples will love the Chic Beach Pad, a spacious one-bedroom unit with a private courtyard garden – it costs between US$150 and US$200 per night. It works well for single travellers too.

The beach itself is two blocks away – each house has beach chairs for you to take down with you – and all are in walking distance of pretty Riviera village, downtown South Redondo and the pier.

Stock up on your favourite goodies at the local stores and the Thursday Farmers Market or head out to eat in the many neighbourhood cafes and restaurants.

A seaside holiday spot since the 1800s, Redondo Beach is only 20 miles from Hollywood and yet it has retained a charming and laidback vibe. Stroll along the beach for wonderful views north across the bay towards Malibu and south to the Palos Verdes peninsula, cycle along the beach bike path to Santa Monica and head further afield for days out at the Disneyland Resort, Universal Studios, Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

After your stay at the beach, enjoy a week at our fabulous mid-century home with a private pool in beautiful Palm Springs.
