The Yorkshire Dales deliver a heady mixture of lush green countryside, sweeping moorland, waterfalls, caves, crags and quaint villages – in fact, the Dales boast two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a National Park.

  • Walks on your doorstep
  • Huge choice
  • Remote locations

This is a place where you can gently potter but it screams out to be enjoyed with more energetic pursuits such as hill walking, fell running, climbing, caving, potholing, mountain biking and canoeing. Our Yorkshire Dales Travel Guides will help you make the most of your stay.

We have selected more than 700 stunning cottages in the Dales, sleeping between 2 and 28 people. Choose from cosy love nests, quaint stone-built cottages, contemporary apartments and spacious family homes.

Couples looking for a rural escape are spoiled for choice – we think you will love The Bothy in the village of Arncliffe (the original setting for Emmerdale) or Shepherds Cottage with its glorious rural views.

Larger houses to accommodate families include rural, village and town centre locations. Part of an 18th-century farmhouse, Fleshbeck Cottage is close to Kirby Lonsdale with lovely gardens backing on to a brook. Stonecroft is in the lovely Wensleydale village of Middleham and is packed with period features.

More than half of our cottages are pet-friendly so the whole family can enjoy the holiday.

You can cook up a storm in your well-equipped kitchen or eat out at one of the many restaurants and pubs – the region is renowned for its fresh produce and excellent prices. Local fare includes Yorkshire pudding (of course!), parkin, Wensleydale cheese and Yorkshire curd tart, usually available at local markets.

We have more than 15,000 cottages across the UK and Ireland and are rated “excellent” by TripAdvisor – more than 96% of our reviews are rated with 4 or 5 stars.
