Wild swimming

We say
Love swimming? Rather than plough up and down your local pool, why not enjoy the beauty and freedom of swimming in open water, in the Lake District, the Hebrides or cruising down the Thames in Oxfordshire. A swim guide, safety boat, overnight accommodation and luggage transfers are all included.

SwimTrek says

If swimming in a pool or off a beach doesn’t quite do it for you, try one of our open water swimming breaks in the lakes and tarns of the Lake District, on the River Thames, in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly or the Scottish Isles.

  • Stunning locations
  • Small groups
  • Safety escorts

Our UK breaks, from two days up to a week, are suitable for all standards, although you’ll need to be reasonably fit and a confident swimmer (we can supply pre-break training advice). Some are more leisurely whilst others are designed to be challenging.

The minimum age is 16 years and our maximum group size is 15. Each of our locations has been chosen for the quality of the water and surrounding scenery.

Prices include a full briefing and fully-qualified safety escort throughout, expert swimming technique analysis, baggage handling and accommodation with breakfast, and hearty picnic lunches each day.

Accommodation varies in each location and includes a country house hotel in the Lake District, a pub on the Thames and a Tall Ship in the Outer Hebrides.
