Recommended place to stay: The Newt in Somerset
The Newt in Somerset says
The Newt is as far removed from a stuffy country house hotel as you can get. Our aim is for you to feel right at home – albeit chilled, pampered and indulged.
All our public spaces – the drawing room, library, bar, Croquet Room and restaurant – are airy, informal, comfy and welcoming. There’s a croquet lawn, expansive gardens and woodland, all on the estate.
When it comes to the bedrooms, there are 13 to choose from in Hadspen House, all with a classical style, sexy bathroom and lovely garden views. The Stable Yard rooms, all created within the estates’s original stables, clock house, granary and hayloft, are a bit quirkier – and just as luxurious.
Delicious home-grown food is served in The Botanical Rooms and there’s a spa with spoiling therapies, a heated indoor/outdoor pool, hammam, Himalayan salt room and top notch gym. You can visit the farm, of course, and take a tour of the garden and our cyder barns – and don’t forget to stock up on goodies from the estate farm shop before you head home.
We will reopen in September 2020 and look forward to welcoming you then. Find out more about The Newt in Somerset and book your stay from September 2020 with a full refund if we are unable to open then.
