Recommended place to stay: The Private Hill
The Private Hill says
Head to our unique “low density” hideaway for a total escape here at Thrussendale Farm; ours is a place where you can re-energise in the breathtaking North Yorkshire Wolds, gaze across the Vale of York and enjoy hotel-standard accommodation in one of our four geodesic domes.
Located far away from the working farm, each dome is furnished with comfort in mind, including an en suite shower room and well-equipped kitchenette. Each has a king-size bed and additional sleeping facilities for up to two children. A wood burning stove will keep you toasty and warm on cool evenings and there’s polar-level insulation, heating and a dehumidifier.
Also on site, there’s Jane’s Dome, our own licensed café and bar which serves delicious food – we even offer ‘room’ service.
There’s so much to see and do in the local area. Feel free to bring your own mountain bikes, go on a walking tour with our Alpacas, spend a day in the beautiful city of York (25 minutes’ drive away) and explore some of the local villages, market towns and historic sites such as Castle Howard. For a family day out, there’s Flamingo Land too.
You can opt to book all four domes for a gathering of family and friends or book just one for a romantic escape.
