Recommended place to stay: Bell Hotel Sandwich
Bell Hotel Sandwich says
Situated in the heart of historic Sandwich, we have built our reputation for excellence amongst visitors and locals alike.
Carefully restored and refurbished, the Bell Hotel Sandwich was built in the 19th Century but now has a chic, modern feel. It’s a stylish, comfortable and beautiful place whether you are staying with us or simply enjoying the restaurant or bars.
Our 37 rooms are light and airy and many have four poster beds and roll-top baths. Some have spectacular views of the estuary.
Throughout The Bell, our emphasis is on great hospitality and that includes our passion for serving fresh, seasonal and local food. The Old Dining Room restaurant competes with the best in Kent, whilst the Brasserie has a more casual vibe with a great terrace, perfect for long, lazy lunches when the sun shines.
We have visitors from all round the globe, many of them repeat guests. This, together with earning accolades in the Michelin Guide and the Good Hotel Guide, is testament to our success in achieving high standards.
One of the Cinque Ports, Sandwich itself is reckoned to be the most complete medieval town in England. In fact, Sandwich was the first in England to have a conservation order placed on the entire town, and it has more listed buildings per acre than anywhere else in the country.
