Inntravel says

Our selection of self-guided walking holidays spans the British Isles as well as most of Europe. As leading specialists since 1987, Inntravel’s walking holidays are all about discovering the lesser-taken path and relishing a slow holiday at your own pace. We have put together a range of experiences that cater for different abilities from gentle riverside or coastal strolls to scenic rambles in the hills.

  • Characterful hotels
  • Luggage transfers
  • Delicious food

The most popular choice is hotel-to-hotel walking. We provide you with a detailed route guide and maps, there’s a comfortable and characterful small hotel or inn waiting for you each evening and we transport your luggage for you each day. Breakfast every morning and some other meals or picnics are also included in the price (it varies from trip to trip).

It’s a great way to really get under the skin of a particular region whilst working up an appetite for a delicious dinner.

In England, Scotland and Wales, we have a choice of four- and six-night hotel-to-hotel walking holidays – and all are graded one or two which means they are easy to moderate with some inclines but nothing overly demanding.

For coastal walking, north Norfolk, Northumberland and Fife are hard to beat. The seascapes are breathtaking, the skies teem with birdlife and there’s culture and history around every corner.

You can delve in to local history on many of our other walking holidays too, including our holiday from the South Downs to the sea or our Welsh route from the coast to Snowdon, with impressive castles and reminders of the area’s slate mining heritage along the way.

You don’t have to love the literary works of Thomas Hardy to appreciate the beauty of The Hardy Way on the Dorset/Wiltshire borders. And as a Yorkshire-based company, we couldn’t leave out our beloved Heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
