Wildlife holidays

Our verdict:

Birds, bears, butterflies: wildlife holidays are as diverse as the people you’ll find on them. From elusive brown bears in Finland to rare lemurs in Madagascar, one constant on Explore’s trips is an expert guide. Join a small group of like-minded adventurers for an itinerary packed with exciting encounters.

On the Go Tours says

Travel with us to experience some of the world’s most exciting and elusive wildlife encounters. With expert local guides and a large proportion of clients travelling alone, we offer intimate group trips where you’ll meet other humans as well as more exotic species.

  • expert-guided groups
  • popular with solos
  • wide range of destinations

Here’s a small selection of our many wildlife tours.

On our Great Wall and Pandas trip to China, there’s the chance to get up close and personal with the wondrous inhabitants of the Giant Panda Research Base at Chendu. Beijing, the Terracotta Warriors and Shanghai also await.

Sloths, monkeys, tree frogs, crocodiles, coatimundi and spectacular birdlife are highlights of Costa Rica. Immerse yourself in the flora and fauna of this incredible Central American on one of our most popular trips, Classic Costa Rica.

The magnificent Bengal tigers of India’s Ranthambore National Park are the highlight of our Shere Khan Tour. There’s so much more included though – we will also take you through the Golden Triangle with time in Delhi, the so-called ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, the breathtaking Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort.

Or how about Madagascar, an island teeming with wildlife, much of it unique? Lemurs, chameleons, colourful amphibians and remarkable birdlife await on this incredible adventure.

On all our trips, you’ll be in the company of like-minded travellers and accompanied by an experienced guide. While the majority of our group members are aged 50 to 65, there are no age limits guaranteeing a diverse mix of people from all over the world – one of the great experiences of travelling on a group tour. The maximum group size is 28 with an average of 18.

We’ll team you up with a room buddy of the same gender or you can opt for single accommodation for a modest supplement.

We also offer a number of family holidays which work well for single parents in the school holidays and half term breaks.
