Beaches with kids

Cathy's verdict
If you're a single parent, it’s not easy to find a family-friendly holiday in the Mediterranean. But these three all-inclusive hotels in Mallorca and Menorca tick every box. Adored by children of all ages, they also offer informal get-togethers for mums and dads. And there are no single supplements.

Single with Kids says

We provide single parents travelling with their children an exciting holiday experience – real-life adventures that will appeal to both single dads, single mums and their children.

  • no single supplements
  • school holiday departures
  • tried and tested hotels

Our holidays ensure company not only for the children, but for the adults too, with informal events arranged to build friendships and make memories.

Our year-round breaks range from cheap camping weekends in the UK to longer holidays abroad. All fall within the school holiday periods.

The Balearic Islands are a family favourite and, with departures from virtually all UK regional airports, they are so easy to reach.

We have hand-picked three great resorts in Mallorca and Menorca, all of which work really well for children of all ages.

In Menorca, our charming hotel is only 250m from a sheltered sandy beach. With all-inclusive arrangements, it’s a carefree option and there are activities for children from mini discos to water sports, volleyball and tennis. There’s a separate children’s pool and playground on site too.

We have opted for the less developed east and north coasts in Mallorca.

In Porto Colom, we have a really good value all-inclusive hotel virtually on the beach and within a short stroll of Porto Colom itself. The rooms are simple but spacious and there’s a free kids club for ages 4 to 12 years.

Alcudia is our other selected resort in Mallorca – the hotel here is 300m from the town’s long sandy beaches and the all-inclusive arrangements even include snacks such as pizzas and hot dogs. It works particularly well for those with teenagers as Alcudia itself is a short walk away. There’s entertainment each evening and a club for children between four and 12 years of age.
