Peru adventure

Our verdict:

Seeing Machu Picchu is a bucket-list experience for a good reason but even getting there - by train through the Sacred Valley on this trip - is incredible. Add in Lima, Cuzco and Lake Titicaca on this singles-only tour with Cox & Kings for the perfect introduction to this fascinating country.

Recommended tour operator: Cox & Kings

Cox & Kings says

We offer dedicated solo traveller tours to some of our most popular destinations, enabling you to explore spectacular parts of the world in style, with complete peace of mind and in the company of like-minded people.

  • expert-guided groups
  • singles only tours
  • your own double room

There are no single supplements and accommodation is based on the single occupancy of twin or double rooms in luxury, characterful hotels that offer sensible prices for solo travellers. Group sizes vary between 10 and 18 people – whilst there is no age grouping, most of our single clients tend to be over 50.

Every tour includes a welcome dinner to allow the group to get to know each other, and a farewell dinner. Breakfast daily and some other meals are included but there’s also the chance to discover local restaurants. Experienced tour managers accompany each trip throughout, supported by knowledgeable local guides and drivers.

Peru is one of our most popular destinations, not least since British Airways introduced non-stop flights to Lima.

Treasures of Peru, for solo travellers only, is a spectacular nine-day tour of the highlights of Peru. After time in Lima, head off to explore Cuzco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Lake Titicaca and Machu Picchu. We build in signature experiences along the way from lunch in a family home on Lake Titicaca to an overnight stay at Machu Picchu itself.

Of course you can also opt to join one of our other escorted group tours in Peru. The Train to Machu Picchu is our top selling tour in the whole of South America whilst, on our Conquistadores, Incas & Islands you can combine Peru with the awe-inspiring Galapagos.
