Our verdict:

Home to the rock-carved city of Petra, the Dead Sea and the desert dunes of Wadi Rum, along with crusader castles, coral reefs, Roman sites and Biblical mosaics, Jordan crams a huge amount into a small country. These expert-guided group tours are perfect for outgoing singles.

On The Go Tours says

We offer a comprehensive range of group tours in Jordan. Our breadth of destination knowledge, first-class local guides and flair for creating great itineraries mean that each trip is packed with amazing sights and experiences, many of them off the beaten track.

  • expert-guided groups
  • popular with solos
  • wide choice of itineraries

The most popular option is Passage to Petra. It’s a six-day itinerary which also packs in Amman, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo and the Promised Land, the Karak Crusader Castle and the magical mosaics of Madaba.

Of course, the highlight for most is two nights in the Rose City of Petra itself where we include a walk through the mysterious mile-long Siq, the narrow gorge with towering sandstone walls, and see the Khazneh (the temple of Indiana Jones fame), the theatre and Museum. There’s also a climb up to the ad-Deir monastery, Petra’s largest carved façade.

Optional extras in Petra include a candlelit stroll through the Siq and a cooking course in the Petra kitchen.

Accommodation is in a mix of comfortable hotels and deluxe desert camps – on most of our group tours, including this one, we offer a free twin-share service or you can opt to pay extra for single occupancy.

Trek Petra is a great option is you prefer to be more physically active whilst Deserts, Ruins, Reefs includes some R&R on the Red Sea coast.

The age range on our trips is from 20 up to 60 years, mostly 50 and over, with a mix of nationalities, making for a fun and interesting group dynamic which is hugely popular amongst solo travellers as well as couples and groups of friends.
