Cooking in Italy

Cathy's verdict
Where better than Italy for foodies to holiday? With the focus on indulging in some fantastic local dishes and wines as you learn, hands-on, the secrets of Italian cooking, it’s no surprise these group villa-based holidays are hugely popular with solo travellers. There’s no single supplement and you'll get to explore the local area too.

Flavours Holidays says

For more than 20 years, we have organised top-notch cooking holidays throughout Italy – Amalfi, Bologna, Puglia, Venice, Sicily and Tuscany – and also in Andalucia.

  • hands-on tuition
  • stay in a villa with pool
  • no single supplement
  • popular with solos

Over 80% of our guests travel solo. On every one of our holidays, you will enjoy the privacy of your own en suite double room with no single supplement, plus you are guaranteed like-minded company, as you relax with fellow guests who share your love of food.

You’ll stay in a characterful and beautifully-appointed villa, each with its own unique history. All our villas are exclusive to Flavours Holidays – check out Villa Arrezzo in Tuscany, for example. Each one has a private pool and is set in glorious countryside, with warm hospitality, fantastic food and excellent wine.

The style of teaching is hands-on – no stuffy lectures here! You’ll get stuck in and have fun whilst learning about and tasting the region’s cuisine. Dishes are always based on fresh local produce, also with an eye on being able to recreate them when you get back home.

Most of our cookery holidays are for a week but we also offer a three-night cooking break in Tuscany, ideal if time is short or you simply want to try it out without committing to a full week.

In recent years, we have added other options, teaming up with the leading experts in their field to deliver similarly high quality learning holidays in Italy – choose from Pilates (combined with some cooking lessons), photography, painting and learning the Italian language.

The price always includes all meals (with some in local restaurants), classes on site, visits to local markets and other places of interest and airport transfers. We can book your flights from a range of regional airports or you can opt to book your own flights.
