By Stacey Parsons

Sardinia is one of the most picturesque islands in the Mediterranean with stunning views at every twist and turn. It’s a particularly lovely place to visit in May or June before the summer crowds arrive Here are six of the best vistas.

Porto Giunco

1. Porto Giunco, near Villasimius

Accessible only by foot, the beach at Porto Giunco is remarkable for its crystal-clear water and white sand. With mountains in the distance and bright shrubbery all around, it’s one of the best beaches in Sardinia. Nearby you’ll find Notteri pond, which is home to flocks of pink flamingos (usually spotted during the winter months). See more holiday ideas in Sardinia.
