New Zealand

Mark and David's verdict
The scenic wonders of New Zealand have stolen the show in many Hollywood movies. In real life, the landscapes of the newest country on Earth are even more impressive than their on-screen portrayal, populated by a cast of friendly Kiwis, featuring a host of thrilling activities and served with some of the best food and wine on the planet.

By far the most popular holiday option is a fly-drive itinerary, which our knowledgeable team can tailor-make to suit your available time, budget and interests. The pace is gentle, the roads uncrowded and the sense of freedom is hard to beat.

Our 22-night Grand New Zealand itinerary combines the North and South Islands, travelling from Auckland to Christchurch via Queensland, visiting natural wonders such as the Rotorua geysers, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough wine regions and the Franz Josef Glacier plus a trip on the famous TranzAlpine train.

If you would prefer to explore one of the two islands in more depth, options range from five up to 13 nights. The five-night Winterless North is a luxury fly-drive, staying in stunning boutique hotels. Discover the Bay of Islands, the Waipoua forest, beautiful Matakana and the seaside gems of Omapere and Opononi.

The South Island is dominated by the 550km-long chain of Alps whose saw-tooth and often snow-capped peaks and glaciers meet the ocean in Norwegian-like fjords. Natural highlights include Milford Sound, Stewart Island and the Abel Tasman National Park.

A Taste of the South is a great value eight-day fly-drive, the perfect introduction to all the island has to offer. It can be combined with other tours on the South and North Islands as part of a longer holiday.

You can also explore both islands in a motorhome. It’s such a wonderful way to discover New Zealand at your own pace and we have RVs which accommodate from two up to six people.

New Zealand is renowned for its unique boutique hotels, with the emphasis on luxury, gourmet cuisine and warm hospitality. We’ve hand-picked the best for this special Boutique New Zealand three-week fly-drive, a once in a lifetime holiday.

Our well-travelled team will be on hand throughout the planning stages to advise and make all your arrangements, including a number of additional experiences, from whale-watching to adrenaline-pumping sports, which can be pre-booked.

We also offer escorted tours in New Zealand – relax in the hands of our knowledgeable and experienced guides, travelling with like-minded people. We now offer escorted tours for solo travellers and on some other tours there’s a free twin-share option.
