Sands Resort Hotel

Our verdict:

Cornwall is special. It grabs you in a big sandy hug and won’t let go. If you went there on holiday as a child, you’ll want to take your own children there. A genuinely family-friendly hotel, Sands Resort rolls out the red carpet for its younger guests with everything from adventure play areas to children’s clubs to flexible mealtimes and visits from Blue Reef Aquarium.

Recommended place to stay: Sands Resort Hotel

Sands Resort Hotel says

We’re a family-friendly hotel that really enjoys having kids to stay.

  • high tea for kids
  • ideal for ages 0-8 yrs
  • complimentary childcare
  • indoor & outdoor activities

Our facilities and range of activities cater for all ages and our position on the coast of north Cornwall means that our guests can do almost anything during their stay, from cycling the Camel Trail and visiting the Eden Project to tree-surfing or taking the plunge on the UK’s longest zip wire.

We’re used to kids with energy to burn and have filled the six acres of land that surround our hotel with an enchanted maze, bouncy castle, pirate ship, playgrounds, zip wire, football and tennis. On rainy days little guests can enjoy the indoor pool and playground, bounce around in the soft play area or play table tennis and air hockey in the games room.

The hotel offers complimentary morning kids club sessions (ideal for treating yourself to a relaxing treatment at our spa) as well as further creche sessions throughout the day. During the school holidays, families can enjoy a fun packed entertainment programme with clowns, magicians, silent disco and visits from the owl sanctuary and Blue Reef Aquarium.

Adventure activities include bodyboarding, rock-climbing, power-kiting and coasteering at nearby Watergate Bay and Lusty Glaze.

Sands Resort Hotel is a stone’s throw from some of north Cornwall’s most spectacular sandy beaches.

We aim to be as flexible as we can be with mealtimes and accommodation. Evening meals (including high tea) can be taken with or without your kids; and the choice of accommodation ranges from a double bedroom with cot, to a three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment suite, with a lounge, TVs and DVD.

Prices start from £1,200 for a week for a family of four during February half term. Or book a three-night Baby & Toddler Break from £321 outside of the school holidays.
