New Forest

Mark's verdict:

The New Forest is hardly new – William the Conqueror created this expanse of woodland and heathland to hunt in. Today’s visitors prefer viewing the abundant wildlife, such as the famous ponies. This National Park is perfect for hiking and cycling but there are other attractions, such as the motors at Beaulieu, family fun at Peppa Pig World and stunning food and drink.

New Forest Living says

We’re all about fabulous self-catering holidays in the New Forest and surrounding area.

  • close to the coast
  • luxury cottages
  • plenty of attractions

We have hand-picked a collection of luxury cottages and houses, from two up to six bedrooms, in the New Forest itself as well as gorgeous spots nearby including Mudeford, Beaulieu, Leamington and Lyndhurst.

The wild, natural beauty of the New Forest has attracted families for years – the great outdoors doesn’t get much greater than here. Pack a picnic and head off in pretty much any direction on bicycles (your own or hire locally) or follow one of the many walking trails.

The seaside is on your doorstep, from the meandering Solent coastline to sandy beaches. There’s a host of attractions for all ages in the area too. Little ones will love Peppa Pig World and all the family will enjoy Paulton’s Theme Park. Add to that the National Motor Museum and New Forest Waterpark and you can enjoy an action-packed holiday, any time of year.

Our team has even researched insider guides to eating out and local farm shops.

The ultimate key to a successful holiday is finding the right place to stay and we think we’ve got that bang on. Our luxurious houses have all the creature comforts you would expect from a home from home. Here are just a few to tempt you.

Border Cottage is the epitome of chocolate box charm, not least with its village location on the edge of the New Forest. Hunters Moon is another New Forest gem with its thatched roof and pretty garden.

If you prefer a coastal location, we have plenty to choose from. A short stroll from Leamington Marina, Little Moorings is a stylish cottage whilst The Haven is right by Mudeford’s beaches. The clifftop location of Lighthouse ensures fabulous views, and it’s a short walk from the beach.

Larger family groups will love Rightmans Place, a beautiful six-bedroom house set in 20 acres in Linwood.
