Turquoise says

Antigua is known for its glorious white sand beaches – there are 365 of them – but it’s also home to some superb family resorts to suit all ages. Add to that a choice of daily non-stop flights, quick airport transfers and crystal-clear water and you have one of our favourite family destinations in the Caribbean.

With calm clear waters and year-round sunshine, the whole family can enjoy spectacular snorkelling, learning to sail, fishing and scuba-diving. Head to the rainforest for a zip-wiring adventure, discover a wealth of history at Nelsons Dockyard at English Harbour and “lime” with the locals at Shirley Heights on Sunday afternoons with live music and local food.

The high season is between Christmas and Easter – book early for special offers and to ensure availability. Antigua is also a great choice for the summer holiday and May half-term with lower hotel prices and warm, sunny weather.

We offer a wide range of hotels in Antigua but two of them stand out as exceptional family resorts.

Carlisle Bay is a stylish five-star hideaway on the south coast. Choose from all-inclusive, B&B, half- or full-board arrangements and prepare to kick back en famille. The Cool Kids Club is located at one end of the resort and is outstanding, catering for all ages from babies to teenagers.

We especially recommend the Beach Suites for families and like the fact that mountain biking, hiking, tennis and water sports are all included in the price. A superb spa, top notch tennis courts and some of the best food in the Caribbean add to the appeal.

Blue Waters is an all-inclusive family-owned gem with a choice of B&B or all-inclusive rates. Outstanding service, thoughtful touches and a complimentary kids club, with its own secret garden, are amongst the reasons it’s a perennial family favourite.

The accommodation is particularly spacious, some of the best in the Caribbean for families. We love the Cove Suites with their vast living spaces and private concierge service. For larger family groups and celebrations, private villas are also available.

Other family-friendly options in Antigua include Jumby Bay and Curtain Bluff, both of them five-star-plus resorts.
