Gwel an Mor

Our verdict:

There’s so much to love about Gwel an Mor. The lodges are stylish, yet cosy, the restaurant serves superb local food, the clubhouse has an indoor pool and spa and the rockpools of Portreath and Gull Rock bay are a short walk away. Most of all, you'll love resident wildlife ranger Gary Zammit, Cornwall’s very own Dr Doolittle.

Gwel an Mor says

Gwel an Mor Luxury Resort offers the perfect haven for a year-round family getaway on the stunning north coast of Cornwall.

All of our five star Scandinavian-style wooden lodges have stunning views of the Atlantic and spacious wooden decks from which to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Sleeping four to six people, the lodges are fully-equipped and furnished to the highest of standards with some featuring a hot tub on the decking and wood burner in the living room.

The best value for a family are the Lowena Lodges which sleep up to five whilst a favourite option for families who want the extra touches of a hot tub and wood burner is the Tregea Signature Lodge which sleeps up to six. Single parents might want to consider one of our new Lakeside Studio Lodges which have a stunning location as well as a hot tub (twin beds available).

Whichever accommodation option you choose, you will find top quality fixtures and fittings – right down to a garlic press in the kitchen – to ensure a fabulously comfortable stay.

On site facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, gym, outdoor play area, nine-hole golf course, Wellbeing Spa and The Terrace restaurant featuring locally sourced produce and menus to suit all ages. We can even deliver meals to your lodge.

Amongst the incredible range of activities, all the family can try out a sea-scooter or body-zorbing in our pool as well as archery, rock-pooling and a badger-watch for example. If the weather’s not so great, the kids will love Basecamp, our soft play area (one of the biggest in Cornwall).

At our very own wildlife centre, Feadon Farm, both children and adults can get up close and personal with our resident wildlife. Learn about British wildlife and conservation whilst hand-feeding one our tame rescue foxes or fly a bird of prey.

The resort is only a ten minute walk from the stunning sandy beach in the harbour village of Portreath and a ten minute drive to the A30 making the rest of Cornwall easily accessible for days out.
