Cosy cottages

Our verdict:

What an inspired collection of family friendly cottages! The moment you snuggle up with Sheepskin’s small-but-perfectly-formed portfolio of properties you’ll just want to pack up and go. There are cottages in Snowdonia and Pembrokeshire, pet-friendly boltholes in the Brecon Beacons plus luxury retreats in Shropshire and the Cotswolds to name a few.

Sheepskin says

Finding the perfect balance between a relaxing and enjoyable holiday for adults and a fun-packed activity break for children/teenagers can be tough, but our home-from-home accommodation and tailor-made guidebooks designed around your interests are the best possible foundation for you to make the most of your family time.

  • characterful cottages
  • lovely settings
  • outdoor activities

These are some of our family favourites.

An ideal base for walking and cycling, Hawksmoor Barn (sleeps 6) is a spacious family home with a large open-plan living and dining area and panoramic views of the Peak District National Park.

If you like to spend holidays pony trekking, walking, surfing, zip-wiring or cycling, but also relish some creature comforts at the end of an adrenaline fuelled day, check out Tailor’s Cottage in Snowdonia.

If you want to enjoy traditional outdoor pleasures in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, head to The Weir House – not least for its incredible location on the banks of the River Teme within walking distance of Ludlow. There are six bedrooms and, amongst other delights, you’ll find a superbly-equipped kitchen – The Weir House used to be a Michelin-starred restaurant!

The Tithe Barn (sleeps four) is a fabulous converted barn in the Brecon Beacons, located at the foot of the Black Mountains – great for hiking and mountain biking.

We have a lovely collection of unique holiday cottages sleeping from four to six in the Cotswolds too.

Hotel comforts come as standard on a Sheepskin holiday, from iPod docks to bathrobes and a breakfast welcome hamper. Our aim is for you to feel at home from the moment you walk through the door.
