Costa Navarino, Greece

Mark's verdict:

If your kids are like mine and love the Percy Jackson novels, they will love visiting the Greek mainland and seeing all of that mythology made real. This is a fascinating corner of Greece, rich in legends, and there is much to appeal to the kids, from long stretches of golden beach to a wealth of fun activities.

The Westin Resort Costa Navarino has rapidly become one of our most popular family hotels with a very high repeat guest rate.

  • family suites
  • kids clubs
  • lovely setting

The thoughtful design, great service and huge range of activities work for families with children of all ages – there’s so much to appeal to kids and parents alike in this luxurious resort.

Costa Navarino is set in an unspoilt corner of mainland Greece, in the Peloponnese. The shelving powder white sand beaches alone have to be seen to be believed.

Away from the beach, you’ll find a fun water park with water slides, a bowling alley, an adventure playground and pool tables.

There are also two golf courses, a racket ball centre, mountain biking, an open air cinema and a host of water sports from paddle boarding to scuba-diving.

Budding Kate Humbles will love the Navarino Natura Hall which showcases the local environment with lots of hands-on exhibits.

The Cocoon creche accepts children from the age of four months up to three years and there’s an outstanding SandCastle club for four to 12 year olds with activities themed around the local archaeology and natural world – even the chance to spot sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach.

The spacious accommodation options include family-sized suites and interconnecting rooms – some suites have a private infinity pool.

The hotel’s Agora village is the delightful setting for its wide choice of restaurants and cafes with plenty of options for family-friendly meals from an American Diner to a beachfront restaurant where kids can browse the menu through a viewfinder!

Sharing the facilities is the adjacent Romanos Resort which is one of the most luxurious hotels in Greece. The villas with a private pool here are spectacular and, strictly for the grown-ups, the Anazoe Spa is particularly impressive.
