Cuba weather in November

By Mark Hodson, Sunday Times Travel Writer

November is one of the best times of year to visit Cuba. The risk of tropical storms has receded, but the high prices and crowds of peak season have yet to arrive. Although you can expect lots of warm weather and sunshine, it’s not quite as humid and steamy as in the summer months.

November brings average maximum temperatures of 28-31ºC. It will be a shade warmer in Santiago de Cuba and Trinidad on the south coast than in the capital Havana and Varadero on the north coast. At night, temperatures fall to around 20ºC. Wherever you are, you can expect 7-8 hours of daily sunshine. The sea temperature is a very comfortable 27ºC.

Prices are low in November but don’t try to book independently. Cuba is one of those destinations where it pays to book with a specialist operator. We recommend Cuba Direct which has a selection of Havana and Varadero twin-centre holidays. If you want to explore the island – as you should – take a look at these multi-centre holidays. You can also focus on bird-watching, fishing, cycling or trekking.
