Cuba weather in March

By Mark Hodson, Sunday Times Travel Writer

March is a great month to visit Cuba. Temperatures are warming up after the cooler winter months with average maximums of 28-32ºC. It’s slightly warmer in the south coast cities of Santiago de Cuba and Trinidad than in the capital Havana and the popular beach resort of Varadero, both of which are on the north coast.

Keep an eye on the date of Easter, which can push up prices in March and April.

Cuba will be feeling very pleasant in March with low humidity, cooling breezes and warm seas of 27ºC. It’s not too hot for sightseeing, but warm enough to bask all day in the sunshine. On average you can expect 8-9 hours of daily sunshine.

If you want to book a holiday in Cuba, we recommend Cuba Direct, a family-run specialist. It has two-centre Havana and Beach holidays along with independent tours such as Highlights of Cuba and even this self-drive tour.
