101 Short Breaks

A perfect boutique B&B in Wales

Annabelle's verdict

The phrase 'boutique B&B' could have been invented for Eva and Owain's chic hideaway in pretty Landeilo. Yomp off into the glorious countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and come back to rainwater showers, robes, and organic tea, coffee and hot chocolate laced with Island Bakery shortbread. Sumptuous beds and slap-up breakfasts complete the deal.

Fronlas says

If a boutique town house B&B with just four rooms is your style, then we’re the place for you. Best of all, Fronlas is located in Llandeilo, one of Carmarthenshire’s prettiest towns, set on a hilltop above the Tywi river on the edge of the Brecon Beacons.

Fronlas is low-key, welcoming and designed to feel like a home from home. There’s an honesty bar, a wood-burning stove, underfloor heating and plenty of books and films

Each room is individually decorated so you can choose one which suits you. Sink in to the supremely comfortable organic mattress and linen, luxuriate in your natural stone bathroom with gorgeous REN goodies and, if you must, keep in touch with our free WiFi.

You’ll enjoy a traditional Welsh breakfast, prepared to order by Eva, with locally-sourced sausages, bacon, eggs, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, granola and bread.

Book an individual room or rent out the entire property for up to 8 adults and 3 children and we’ll give you access to the kitchen too!

Llandeilo is a foodie’s paradise. You’ll find a host of great gastro-pubs, restaurants, delis, including a chocolatier and ice-cream maker, and some unique boutiques. All are set in and around the picturesque town centre with its Edwardian and Regency townhouses and pastel-coloured cottages.

Beyond the town lies a host of things to do and places to see from historic castles to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, designed by Norman Foster. There’s hiking and biking on the doorstep and we can knock up a delicious organic packed lunch if you wish.

Check availability and rates here. Travel by rail to Llandeilo itself or drive – we’re about 30 minutes from Junction 49 on the M4.
