Tall ship sails to Costa Rica

Star Clippers, which operates three of the world’s largest and tallest sailing vessels, is to relocate one of its ships, the Star Flyer, from the South Seas to the coast of Costa Rica.

From November 2010, the 170-passenger tall ship will operate two 7-day, round-trip itineraries throughout the winter from Puerto Caldera on the country’s west coast. Ports of call will include San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua, the Islas Tortuguas in Costa Rica and Isla Coiba in Panama. In summer the Star Flyer will cruise the Western Mediterranean. Individual bookings will open from April 2009.
