Garlic Festival this weekend

If you’re looking for a last minute getaway this weekend, head to the Isle of Wight where the annual Garlic Festival takes place on August 15 and 16. You won’t be able to avoid the stuff – there are some 300 stalls with mussels, prawns, sausages, lamb, hot crusty bread, ice-cream and even coffee, all served with a garlicky twist.

Other attractions include a funfair, music from the likes of The Wurzels, Dr and the Medics and T-Rextasy and a collection of vintage cars and tractors.

Tickets cost £7.50 per adult, £4 per child. Well-behaved dogs on the lead are also welcome.
