Ferries to Spain now faster

Ferries to Spain are getting faster. On March 18, Brittany Ferries launches a new route between Portsmouth and Santander in Northern Spain, creating a new record crossing time of 24 hours.

The new route will be served by the company’s flagship Pont Aven, which offers some of the features of a cruise ship including a wraparound promenade deck, two cinemas, a leisure area and swimming pool. The £100million ferry carries 2,400 passengers and 650 cars.

The port of Santander is the gateway to the beautiful beaches and mountains of Northern Spain. It is also handy for driving to the French Atlantic Coast.

Brittany Ferries already sails from Plymouth to Santander in under 21 hours, but Portsmouth is more convenient for many holidaymakers in London and the South East. Fares cost from £214 return for a car and two passengers. More details from Brittany Ferries.
