Award for 101 Holidays editor David Wickers

David Wickers, one of our editors at 101 Holidays, has scooped a prestigious accolade at the inaugural Travel Press Awards in London. The Award for Outstanding Contribution recognises “the utmost excellence” in his career as a travel writer and editor.

David was the Chief Travel Correspondent of the Sunday Times between 1988 and 2003, and is currently Travel Editor of Good Housekeeping as well as a freelancer for the Express, Mail and other national newspapers.

Judges of the awards included Dermot Blastland, Managing Director, TUI, UK and Ireland; John McEwan, Chairman ABTA; Steve Byrne, Managing Director, Travel Counsellors; Richard Carrick, Chief Executive Officer, Hoseasons; Barbara Cassani, Chairman Jurys Inns; Alun Cathcart, Chairman, Avis Europe; and Litsa Constantinou, Managing Director of Inghams.

David Wickers is joint editor of both 101 Holidays and 101 short breaks, along with Mark Hodson.
