For the first time, Vintage Travel has introduced a fully catered service at one of its villas in south-west France. In the style of a catered ski chalet, it’s ideal for those who relish the freedom of a summer villa holiday but don’t want to even think about cooking.
Situated at Soustons, just along the coast from Biarritz, Manoir Atlantique is a beautiful 19th century Basque-style mansion sleeping up to 18 in 9 bedrooms.
For style, think original parquet floors, wood panelling, marble fireplaces and an oak stairway. Toys and games include a heated pool, hot tub, tennis court, table tennis, billiard room, badminton, croquet, boules and mountain bikes – all set in 6 acres of landscaped garden and woodland and just 7kms from the Cote d’Argent beaches north of Biarritz.
The fully catered service is available between May 28 to September 24. The price includes a champagne reception (soft drinks for children), breakfast and afternoon tea daily, 2 lunches (a gourmet barbecue and a 3-course lunch) and 4 gastronomic evening meals with complimentary regional wine. There’s also a complimentary drinks minibar by the pool.
A week’s catered service costs from €9214 (approximately £7,750) in June for up to 10 people, rising to €24,988 (approximately £21,000) based on 18 people sharing in peak season. Between 2 April and 21 May, plus 24 September and 22 October, the property is available on a self-catering basis. Return flights and car hire are extra.
