World Primate Safaris says
Tracking gorillas with experienced guides is one of the planet’s great travel experiences, and Rwanda, home to the magnificent mountain gorilla and 13 other primate species, is one of the most rewarding places to do it – we’re proud of our 100% success rate in tracking gorillas in both Rwanda and Uganda.
Rwanda has progressed significantly since the genocide of 1994 and tourism is booming, largely because approximately half of the world’s mountain gorillas dwell in Rwanda’s Parc National des Volcans.
In common with Uganda, another great destination for tracking gorillas, Rwanda’s infrastructure is less developed than some of Africa’s other hotspots such as Tanzania and Kenya but service is friendly and helpful and coming face to face with these magnificent creatures in the wild is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We offer a wide range of flexible tailor-made and lower-priced small group safaris for either a dedicated trip or an add-on experience to a safari in Tanzania or beach holiday in Zanzibar, for example. Accommodation options include a range of lodges and camps with an increasing choice of more luxurious accommodation (relatively speaking!).
Please note that the minimum age is 15 years and visitors are not permitted if they are suffering from a viral infection such as a cold because of the risk to the gorillas’ health.

It’s one of the most thrilling travel experiences on Earth: hike high into the jungles of Rwanda for an intimate encounter with mountain gorillas. Combine the trip into the Volcanoes National Park with a visit to Nyungwe Forest National Park, home to chimps and Colobus Monkeys, then kick back on the shores of Rwanda's Lake Kivu.
