Single parent activity holidays

Will and Sally's verdict

Family holidays are precious, hard-earned and over all-too quickly. Getting them right is especially important for single-parent families, when time is at a premium. The Kids and Me is a brilliantly simple concept: its flexible themed holidays are designed to help single parents share an adventure, learn new skills and have fun with their children.

The Kids and Me says

We provide single parents travelling with their children an exciting, fulfilling and memorable holiday experience – real-life adventures that will appeal to both adventurous dads and mums and their children.

Founder Richard Gould, a single dad himself, says: “I have always loved the outdoors and, post divorce, find that doing activities together are a great way to connect with my children. We have fun together whilst learning new skills and there is always something to talk about at the end of each day.”

Unlike many holidays where the kids are hived off to a kids club, we focus on a voyage of discovery together, leaving lasting memories that money can’t buy – and we throw in a little ‘daring do’.

We understand that flexible dates are key when you may only have the kids for less than a week or with dates agreed at short notice. We can put together a bespoke package for you.

Themed holiday weeks include a Wilderness Experience in Swedish Lapland at Easter. Stay in a rustic cabin and enjoy activities such as dog-sledding, fishing and canoeing. In August, the season of the Midnight Sun, learn bushcraft skills, go canoeing and stay in forest cabin.

Closer to home, our Seascape Escapade on the stunning Welsh coast in July or August is a great choice, with activities such as sea-kayaking and bushcraft geared towards children aged 10+ or 14+.

August in the Alps is packed with activities. Our Alpine Challenge can be tailored to your requirements with more or less activities from rock-climbing and white-water rafting to staying overnight in a mountain refuge.

For warmer climes, our Mountains & Markets adventure in Morocco offers exotic experiences from the kasbahs of Marrakech to hiking in the Atlas mountains.
