Family safari houses

Will and Sally's verdict

The Safari Houses concept is designed specifically with families in mind. We haven’t found a more family-friendly way of doing a safari. Robin’s House and Luangwa House not only offer luxurious home comforts in one of Africa’s premier national parks – they also promise a relaxed, children’s paradise where you can plan each day as you please.

Robin Pope Safaris says

Our private safari houses in Zambia, Robin’s House and Luangwa Safari House, offer the perfect family safari experience.

Catering from small to large groups, our safari activities are individually tailored for each family. Families can take part in activities together or the children can be looked after and entertained by our team.

We believe that children should be included as much as possible and so individual programmes are designed for them, depending on their ages and interests. A full range of safari activities are available including game drives and nature walks to learn to identify animal spoor and droppings, birding for beginners and learning to use spotlights at night.

Other activities available include safari packs with fun quizzes and puzzles, trips to Kawaza school to meet Zambian children and helping bake cookies in the kitchen. The older kids love going to the workshop for the morning, playing sport (beach cricket) or even having a sleep in, lazy morning and fry up by the pool.

The houses are ideal for families, offering privacy, total relaxation and a sense of being home from home. There is a wide range of children’s books and games available including puzzles, cards, swing ball, paints and a sandpit. The swimming pool is nearby to cool off after each safari.

Luangwa Safari House won Best Safari House in The Good Safari Guide Awards in 2009 and 2010.
