Bridge & Wickers says
Canada, the second biggest country in the world, is a king-size holiday playground for families.
Our popular 16 day self-drive adventure focuses on the east of the country, combining the provinces of Québec and Ontario.
In the lively city of Toronto, just a seven hour flight from the UK, you’ll have the chance to climb to the top of the CN Tower, with its incredible views over Lake Ontario as well as discovering the cosmopolitan shopping, restaurants and galleries.
Then it’s on to the awesome sight of Niagara Falls, best seen from the Canadian side, where there’s a chance to get up close, personal and a little damp on the Maid of the Mist boat trip. Take to the air in a helicopter for a stunning bird’s-eye view and don’t miss a walk through the tunnels to see the thundering falls right in front of your eyes – and ears.
You’ll also travel to the Algonquin National Park where wildlife enthusiasts can spot a menagerie of amazing animals in their natural habitat, including bears, moose and wolves.
For an injection of history - and to put any French lessons to the test - the itinerary also incorporates Québec where accommodation includes the wonderful Hotel Sacacomie where you can experience horse riding, kayaking and fishing, plus spa treatments for the grown ups. You’ll also have the chance to explore Ottowa, Canada’s capital city.
Your last port of call is Montreal, Canada’s most cosmopolitan, happening city with its rich French heritage.

This corner of Canada is crying out for a family adventure. It’s only a seven-hour flight to Toronto and this well-paced self-drive holiday combines excellent hotels with exciting activities. Top of most children’s wishlist will be the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls, but we’re pretty sure that the kayaking and mountain biking in Ontario’s backcountry will be just as memorable.
