Tropical Sky says
Scuba-diving has become one of the UK’s fastest-growing sports, particularly amongst families. Not only is it a fun activity which you can enjoy all over the world, but it’s also a great way for children to gain a great sense of achievement and learn more about the marine environment.
Our Family Diving programme provides tailor-made diving packages for families travelling with children to a wide range of destinations in the Red Sea, Indian Ocean and Caribbean.
Each resort has been selected for the quality of its on-site diving school, instructors and equipment. As well as offering professional dive instruction, all of our selected resorts have children’s clubs and, in Sharm el Sheikh, we can also arrange a UK-qualified nanny.
The PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) open-water course is a world-recognised qualification which takes four to five days with a combination of learning in the pool, the open sea and classroom.
The minimum age is 15 yrs with a junior version (diving to shallower depths) for age 10 yrs upwards. No previous experience is required and there is no upper age limit but you need to be comfortable in the water.
Adults and children from the age of 10 years can try out diving on a one-day PADI Discover Scuba Diving introductory experience and children from the age of 8 years can experience diving on the PADI Bubblemaker Course.

Learning to dive is a great way to bond as a family, as you discover together the magical silent world underwater. Children as young as eight can take a Bubblemaker course while teenagers can become fully-qualified scuba divers with a five-day Open Water course. And, who knows, you might even find Nemo.
