Here at 101 Holidays, we are building a unique collection of hotel recommendations by some of the world’s foremost travel writers and editors. Each of our contributors reveals a personal favourite place where they would pay to stay.

The rules are simple: the price of a double room must be no more than £150 ($250). And the recommendation must be in the form of a “Tweet”, no more than 140 characters.

Today’s tip comes from Kim Wildman, a full-time travel writer and guidebook author based in Australia. Kim has written books for Lonely Planet, Bradt and DK, and numerous features for publications including The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and MSN.

Kim recommends: “Tunza Lodge, Mwanza, Tanzania: Between the beach, the bar & the sunsets over Lake Victoria, this is one lusciously laidback lodge.” Doubles cost $US45 - 60.
